Adding, editing and deleting RightBar segments

If the conditions of your sales lifecycle changes, or you have additional ways you can qualify your website visitors, it is possible to add, edit and delete each segment for your RightBar campaign,.

Adding segments within your RightBar segment group lets you create numerous types of conditions for the different visitors, subscribers, members or customers on your site to meet in order to see the different variations of your RightBar.

Locate your RightBar segment group

In your RightMessage dashboard for the website you are personalizing, click ‘Segments’ in the admin bar.

In the left sidebar, click the 'Funnel Stage' segment group.

Edit the RightBar segment group name

To change the name of the RightBar segment group, click on the segment group name in the main segment editing screen.

Edit the existing name or add a new name in the field provided.

Click the yellow ‘save’ button to save the new name.

Once you have saved the new name for your RightBar segment, make sure to click ‘Publish’ in the top right of the screen to save the new changes.

Creating a new stage for your RightBar campaign

Click the ‘+ Add new stages’ button under the main segment area to add a new stage.

A new segment box will appear under the last stage.

Add a name for the segment in the field provided and click the yellow ‘Create’ button.

To add multiple stages to the Funnel Stage segment, continue adding the stage names in the blank box provided and click the yellow 'Create' button to add each one.

If you are done adding stages to the Funnel Stage segment, click 'Done'.

Use the drop down in the segment box to add one or more conditions for the new segment. Fill out the required field(s) for the condition chosen.

To add more conditions to the segment, click the ‘+ and’ or ‘+ add another set of conditions’ buttons.

To make sure your new segment is saved, click the ‘Publish’ button in the top right corner of the screen.

Customize the RightBar text and CTA URL location for your new segment

Now that the new segment has been created, you can edit the version of the RightBar for that segment to add a new message, button text and destination URL.

In the RightMessage admin bar, click 'Personalize' --> 'RightBar'.

In the top right of the RightBar dashboard area, click the 'Customize' tab.

A new version of the RightBar will be visible for the new segment.

To edit the message shown in the RightBar, hover over the text and click to open the text editor.

Add the text you want to show and click 'Update'.

To edit the text shown in the RightBar button, and specify the destination the button links to, hover over the button and click to open the editor.

Add the URL the button will redirect to, and the button text, and click 'Update'.

To make sure the RightBar for your new segment is saved, click the ‘Publish’ button in the top right corner of the screen.

Edit your RightBar segments

Once your RightBar segments have been created, you can edit the segment to either change the name of the segment and the conditions associated with it.

In the RightMessage admin bar, click 'Personalize' --> 'RightBar'.

In the top right of the RightBar dashboard area, click the 'Define Segments' tab.

You can also edit the name and conditions of your RightBar segments via the Funnel Stage segment in the 'Segment' area of RightMessage.

In the 'Define Segments' area, click on a segment tab to reveal the current conditions.

Add a new condition by either clicking the ‘+and’ or ‘+ add another set of conditions’ buttons.

Select a condition type in the drop down provided. Depending on the condition type, different fields will automatically display for you to define the values of the condition.

To make sure your new condition(s) is saved, click the ‘Publish’ button in the top right corner of the screen.

Delete a RightBar segment

If you no longer need a segment for your RightBar campaign, you can delete the segment from the segment group.

To delete a segment, navigate to the 'Segment' dashboard in your RightMessage admin.

In the left sidebar, click the 'Funnel Stage' segment group.

Open the box of the segment you wish to delete and click the trash can icon to the right of the segment name.

Before the segment is deleted, an alert box will appear to confirm that you want to delete the segment. Click ‘OK’ to continue.

RightMessage will delete the segment from the segment group.

Click the ‘Publish’ button to save the changes.
